Completes the task. The splice is smaller and therefore takes up less space in the splice holder tray. Never had a welding defect. The only problem is that when the optical splicer recommends cutting the fiber to 16mm, the splice tube is almost too short and the shrink tube covers the insulation of the fiber strand just enough to improve the splice, but this is not a malfunction of the product. Works perfectly with a short gap welding machine. Overall an amazing product.
