Review on πŸ“Ά High-performance Alfa AWUS036NHA Wireless USB Adaptor with Long Range and Atheros Chipset - Windows Compatible by John Snook

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not my first alpha, does the job, could do better

The Atheros chipset I read should have been more stable to be used in Kali. Well, I have used the Aircrack package on both my home install (Ubuntu) and the Kali Live machine. I gave it a try and wasn't impressed with either the distance or the download speed. The download speed from the AWUS036H was close to what I got on the Ethernet network (pw = -25 or -30). the regulatory zone must be 00. (For those unaware, the maximum transmission power of certain devices is limited by the FCC in the US and other regulatory agencies internationally). Of course I had no malicious intent, I just wanted to see how far I could pick up a 30dBm signal. Of course, supports monitor mode, main mode and excellent packet injection seeds. ANTENNAS: 5 dBi for your intelligence. 9dBi is an antenna type I'm not too familiar with. For active attacks, the 7dbi ALFA panel of the three options presented is best suited. I have yet to try the 2.4GHz Lolz parabolic mesh with rifle inspired Yagi antennas. Sounds funny. In short, you're fine with 5dbi, but if you want a slightly better signal (which is sometimes important for burst injection), a 7dBi panel is fine. See my AWUS036H 1000mW review for a comparison.
