and it works great for this

I use this adapter when I work on Kali Linux and it works great for that. It works right out of the box with no updates or drivers required. Please note that if you configure the power settings so that the wireless adapter does not turn off to save power, this adapter will not work in Kali. You must use the power saving feature. Hope this gets updated.

Best for Kali Linux

Windows 10 may have driver issues. You must disable the device once it appears in Device Manager. It was visible to me as UB91C when I connected the device to my Windows 10 operating system. I disabled it by right clicking UB91C and enabled it by right clicking UB91C as well. And the driver installed automatically. Hope this helps Windows 10 users. Legal product without a doubt.

A good module with flexible settings.

So far I am very satisfied with this product. Like many others, I bought it to use with Kali Linux. It worked right out of the box. I like to use the holder that came with it. I would like additional attachment types, but the clip still works. The supplied USB cable is sufficient for my purposes. I recommend buying a longer antenna for it. I was able to find WiFi networks that I thought were unavailable. I connected it to my Pi 3B+ and placed it as high as possible to maximize range.

  • Long-term test results

Works great, possible UK regulatory domain banned.

This worked fine, Kali Linux plug and play, monitor mode, 100% packet injection in all tests, which I don't get from my other two cards, while monitoring increased 20% AP, the only problem was regulatory requirements. The domain was blocked for England and the TX power was blocked at 20 with no reliable way to change it. All in all this is a fantastic card that works great except for the fact that the regulatory section is blocked. I will be returning this unit and ordering another hoping to…

Great for practicing penetration testing skills

It works, only allowed on 2.4GHz, but was able to do what I wanted when practicing penetration testing and monitoring. In the end, I settled on a second, more advanced model that can run at 5 GHz. Then couple them (in software) with some custom Python scripts to cover all the bands/channels you are working on. I've had several very expensive, high-performance routers in my tests that, when paired with a 5GHz adapter with custom Python scripts, seemed to cover the full spectrum of broadcasting…

Great WiFi adapter for penetration testing Linux distributions

This is my new WiFi card for penetration testing with Virtualbox and Kali Linux 2.0. The Atheros AR9721 chipset is, in my opinion, the best chipset for wireless penetration testing. I've had no problems running an adapter with this chipset when promiscuous/monitor mode is required for packet injection. I currently have (4) different WLAN cards from Alfa AWUS036NEH; AVUS036NH; AWUS036H and now AWUS036NHA. The NHA with the Atheros AR9721 chipset is by far my favorite. I use this wireless adapter…

Not my first alpha, does the job, could do better

The Atheros chipset I read should have been more stable to be used in Kali. Well, I have used the Aircrack package on both my home install (Ubuntu) and the Kali Live machine. I gave it a try and wasn't impressed with either the distance or the download speed. The download speed from the AWUS036H was close to what I got on the Ethernet network (pw = -25 or -30). the regulatory zone must be 00. (For those unaware, the maximum transmission power of certain devices is limited by the FCC in the US…

Fake: Network Adapter

I swear I posted a review about this in February 2019 but it seems gone to be. Here it is again. I thought this card was very profitable, but then I found out it was fake. There are stickers with MAC address and serial number on the back of the box and on the bottom of the adapter. None of them matched. At first I thought it was just a packaging mix-up. And then my computer told me something else. The actual MAC address had nothing to do with the one on either sticker. Not only did it not even…

Not yet working with Linux - Nov 17

Driver CD in box dated December 2016. Be sure to Label the outside of your drives with any version number. There is no driver for NHA. I was stumped for about a day with no response after trying 3 different things and I requested a refund. The Linux ifconfig command didn't show the device at all. Then I decided to try lsusb (usb list). Even before I did that, I saw a brief error message on boot that said the Atheros driver was missing. Of course, lsusb brought back Atheros and the modules. This

Great for Linux compatibility

Only works with Linux 4.8.0 / Ubuntu 16.10, no installation, no problems almost 24/7 days of use. ath9k is a good choice, and the manufacturer who states what chipset they actually used deserves support! However, the blue LED is too bright. The installed region appears to be GB as other reviews say. People travel across borders with WiFi devices anyway , idVendor=0cf3, idProduct=9271 Jan07 09:25:14 Xray kernel: USB 2-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=16, Product=32, SerialNumber= 48 Jan 07…
