We found this nicely packaged recorder to be made of flimsy plastic. The packaging it came in was stronger than the item itself. Since the batteries didn't fit easily into the product, we used a handy cord that plugs into an outlet. However, the wire continued to fall out of the object. Then we wrap the entire wire with electrical tape so that it does not fall off the object. We then followed the instructions, put in our favorite tape and hit the play button (it goes down, not in) and the tape really started spinning and spinning. However, no sound came out! We checked the settings using the instructions and fully adjusted the volume control. We tried,
