Review on Gingher Inch Featherweight Handle Scissors by Wendy Rodriguez

Scissors for people with arthritis problems and more!

These featherweight scissors have become my lifeline. I had been sewing since I was 8 years old, using tailor's scissors and sharpening them as needed, until I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in my late forties. I could lift metal shears, but because of their weight, it was impossible to control them. Concerned that I couldn't sew anymore, I went to the local fabric store. I tried these scissors when I saw them. They were so light I could easily pick them up and control the scissors! I was thrilled to be able to sew again! I used these scissors for many years until I met someone who had the same cutting problems. I bought them for her. I read someone complaining about not being able to trim everything down to the tip of the scissors. I learned professional tailoring at university. My professor taught us never to cut everything down to the tip of the scissors. She recommended we trim the scissors down to about 3/4 for more control. I still follow her advice. I hate when people reject these scissors that really help those of us with moderate to severe arthritis.
