Review on Aorus X5 V7 KL3K3D Notebook I7 7820HK by Sean Sheppard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great laptop for editing, gaming on the ultra gigabyte did a great job with it!

This review is for the x5 v7 model - I bought this laptop primarily for video editing but also for some gaming on the go. I've had the X5 v7 for about two and a half weeks and here are my impressions of it: Pros: The OC is very good - the headroom is 4.3GHz and can be increased in the BIOS if you want. Color screen X-Rite's Pantone profile looks great. The command and control and driver update utility is amazing and makes it easy to monitor your computer. I really like it when you collapse the C&C utility to get a toolbar with all the important information about the machine like GPU CPU usage, temperature, fan speed, OC setting. The all-metal body feels solid and doesn't creak. The RGB keyboard even looks on every key and has many options through the software. The 1070 is a beast and can play most games at top quality. The Thunderbolt 3 port saves a lot of space - I use this dock for everything but powering laptops: Dell 3GMVT Thunderbolt Dock TB16 240W Black Weighs only 5.5 pounds - not bad for this kind of performance. Cons: Small "lightning bolt" in the top right corner. The screen is a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the laptop. the insides are somewhat sharp-edged - be careful when opening! Things to note: battery life on this laptop when gaming isn't great, but that's to be expected! It gets loud under full load. When I'm not using it for gaming or programming, I set the fan to silent mode and it's very quiet. All in all, this is a good laptop and the shortcomings are not the deciding factor for me. I would recommend trying this machine out for your next beast!
