Microfiber towels come in two different variations. One type is very flat and has a slick feel to it and the other like this has a more terrycloth feel. Microfiber is a good replacement for cotton towels, however there are some limitations. The slick ones are poor substitutes in my opinion. This type with the more woven/terrycloth texture do seem to work better for me. These initially do not absorb water quite as well but once they are a bit moist then the absorption is good if not a bit better than cotton. They will hold considerable amounts of water and are easily rung out and then dry much more quickly then cotton. Overall pretty good but you do have to get used to them for a bit.
