I like that they are easy to write on and very smooth. However, they do not wipe off easily and seem to smudge very easily. It's like oil based chalk. Again, they work great for what I use them for, which is my weekly goals that I leave for a long period of time, but I wouldn't recommend them for something you plan to wash frequently unless you object to add some elbow grease . They're also very heavy so they don't look like light chalk, which can be good depending on what you need them for. They also show every little imperfection in the surface they write on, so the writing might look jagged when you use it on a fridge with a texture like mine attached to my chalkboard. All this should be taken into account when buying.
