We love the WD_Black D10 Series 12TB External Game Drive. This is a great external solution for PCs and earlier game consoles. I'm speaking up because those launching next month will do best with NVMe SSD solutions when it comes to proper load times and frame rates. There have been some cheaper 12-14TB solutions on the market lately if you don't need the speed boost this solution has to offer. The only thing that could lower the rating in this case is the price (but only if we could lower it by half a star, which unfortunately we can't). Do you drive a little louder than some? Yes that could be. Is it annoying? Not really, unless you're sitting too close, you're using it. If it's under a table or some distance between you and where it's sitting, it won't be as noticeable. If you had experience with the type of drivetrain inside you would totally understand and expect this. How much faster is it? This can vary depending on the transfer rate of the drive and the type of files (number, size, etc.). It depends on whether you are actively writing to it or transferring the file.
