This drive is louder than my other Western Digital external hard drives, which are smaller and run at 5400 RPM and do not require an external power supply. , but they're about 60% slower than this beast. I bought a 12TB model. Not sure why the 8TB model is listed for more products and the 12TB model is listed for Xbox only. As other buyers have noted, Windows recognizes it (as 10.9 TB) with no problem. I received this product to use as a spare drive for a RAID 10 array on a Win10 PC used as a media server.
