I mainly use metallic paints to glaze furniture pieces that I am renovating. However, I used it to paint the parts. If you've never painted with metallic paints before, it's a good idea to coat your piece with a primer or chalk paint first. Then use the FOAM BRUSH and basically FLASH the color into the primer and/or chalk paint. The point is to apply very LIGHT COATS and you will most likely need at least 3 coats, maybe 4. The first coat will look terrible but then it gets better until you get a nice smooth metallic finish. You must work VERY FAST as this material dries very quickly. Fast drying is a plus in the sense that once you've completed a side or two of your project, you can immediately start applying the next coats.
