Not solid copper but good conductivity. I've been busy setting up surround sound in a 400-square-foot house using multiple amplifiers, a Chromecast, and a random selection of vintage speakers I've collected over the years. Well, I recently discovered that many brands of speaker wire these days are not real copper, contain no copper at all, just have a "copper" color. and don't spend. I recently bought a branded speaker wire with the initials BB in a large store, and I received no reaction from the connected speakers, the tightness of the connections - nothing. I then replaced the BB speaker wire with a mediabridge out of curiosity. Wow just wow. Then my speakers came alive. I learned something new this week: more and more counterfeit products are coming out of China, including items claiming to be 100% cotton etc. Beware of the counterfeit speaker cables that are being sold in big stores even now. solid copper, but nowadays it is not found. Mediabridge uses a blue line instead of reading and I might have preferred a black line as there are a lot of visible wires here and there, but at least blue is better than bright red I think. Well at least the Mediabridge uses copper plating and not aluminum and that's my standard now.
