I like to have a couple of side pockets for a water bottle and I like to stuff papers and folders in the bag. You can't cram too much in way of papers, books and electronics. yep its smaller but thats its best feature. This fits under the airplane seat with enough room for me to put my feet on each side. I have traveled heavily with this bag for almost three years. If you want compact and not very big backpack, you'll love this one. Enough space to put all your daily needs and walk around or bike with ease. And if you travel a lot and use airports, the X-ray feature will make your life easer when you pass through airport security. I have two Brenthaven briefcase-style laptop cases (both great) and am a huge fan. This is my first laptop backpack. Although I've only had the MetroLite for a month or two, I've been beating it up pretty hard during several road trips. So far, no issues whatsoever. The size, weight, and functionality of this bag suit my needs perfectly. I especially like the iPad pouch on the back. I spend a lot of time on airplanes and having the iPad stored this way is most convenient.Highly recommended.
