I first bought another less expensive Himalayan salt lamp from Revain. When it arrived, it seemed to me like the color of the salt was dyed, as I saw pearlescent paint balls on it. I washed a little and of course the salt was snow white! Then I read about the risk of fire with the cord of the device so I promptly sent it back. I decided to take a chance (the cost was about twice as much). Research in Himalayan salt mining c. This company clearly knew where they mined them. When this item arrived I opened the box and found it was very well packaged! Each item was packaged separately and had lots of really big chunks of salt in a nice color as well as 2 onions. The base was securely attached to a magnificent thick salt shaker. In the center of the bowl was a hole for a lightbulb. This company thought of everything as they had a strong wire cage surrounding the top of the bottle so it wouldn't get damaged when chunks of salt were placed on top (unlike the other company). I put my pieces of salt around the top. dish and connected it to the network. I couldn't get over how wonderful it was! The first thing I thought of was how I would like it in my office and in my meditation room. I needed everything not to run upstairs and buy more! I know I will as I want to gift this to a friend who will love it too and I will probably give up and buy at least one more for myself! The dimming level is excellent - from very bright to very low. At the highest level you can feel the warmth and illuminate both the bowl and the pieces. At night I set it to the lowest setting and hold it all night. It has a soft warm orange glow. You won't be disappointed when you get this - it was worth the extra money and I'm pretty frugal, but I genuinely believe this item is definitely worth the price. No regrets here! If you're not happy with that, you must have been given a lemon (every company gasps sometimes), but how they handle it matters. I can't confirm their customer service as mine arrived in perfect condition but give it a try I think you'll really enjoy it.
