I am giving this product a 2 instead of a 1 simply because it actually does what it is advertised. Exactly until it broke. I am a knife maker and bought this vise as a more modular alternative to the larger, heavier vise. The work I do with the vise is pretty simple. I do not pull, pry, or bend metal with them. I just need a vise to hold the knife steady while I work to adjust and shape the handle plates and such. Literally the hardest thing I do when making a knife is manually filing the scales while they're in a vise. I wouldn't expect this to damage a decent vise by half. The mechanical problem I'm having is related to the bolt that attaches the ball joint to the vise jaws. There is a socket head cap screw that appears to have come loose from my work with the knife in a vise. This makes it so that now the "head" of the vise is no longer stationary. Now it rotates 360 degrees. not good. I tried to fix it but couldn't because the screw is under a threaded screw that opens and closes the jaws making it inaccessible. Included. It's a $20 vise. I should have known better.
