Thick Quilt Difficult to Work With

If you have a custom made king size quilt that is a little longer and/or has more filling, save yourself the stress and try the jumbo size first. I can attest that stuffing a large queen into an XL isn't a cakewalk. I had at least 8 inches of blanket spilled over it on my first try. Then I had to remove the package, which I liken to a snake. (I've never skinned a snake before, but I think it wouldn't be any less difficult.) On the second attempt, I folded the blanket so that it was smaller in depth and larger in girth. I should have just stopped and returned the bag but sometimes you just don't want something like that to hit you. The second attempt took 15 minutes, but I was successful. Then I had to grab it. This took another 10 minutes. I put him on my knee, pushed him against the bed and against the wall. I ended up having to sit on the edge of the bag to close it. Anyone who has seen "I love Lucy" understands the picture. When I finished I was panting and sweating and couldn't clench my fists because of my finger cramps. The vacuum part was simple and worked. When folded, it is now about 1/4 the original size. Do keep it in a cupboard on the other side of the house though as I'm a bit scared the zipper won't hold and it will explode at 2am one morning and scare me to death. I don't know the jumo size (too tired to look) but I could use at least another 5 inches deep and wide of the bag. And I think I'll have to cut open the pocket to get the blanket out again.
