My husband calls me a water snob and I have to admit it's true. I only drink purified water (I drink most of my life) and alkaline water whenever possible. This is a great mug for the price. I've been using it for 6 months and I'm happy with the water taste. My tap water tastes gross (earthy) and recently after changing the filter I noticed that my filtered water tastes very similar. Today I washed everything thoroughly, I thought maybe something got in there and spoiled the taste, only then did I realize I forgot to remove the stickers from the bottom of the filter when I bought a replacement. I'm a fool. I took them off and ran water through them for a few minutes, filling and emptying them three times as instructed. The filtered water no longer tasted like tap water! Tip: The design is so-so, but it doesn't bother. Fill the water just below the top, but be careful not to go any higher as the tap water will go where the filtered water should go. A minimal solution, but an important one if you don't want to give up using a pitcher of alkaline water. I recommend this product to all my friends and family. You can't beat the price of alkaline water!
