Litmus test, makes alkaline plz more

In short, this filter MAKEs acidic tap water alkaline! More details below. I made a few mistakes early on and tried to pour out the filtered water while there was still water in the top "reservoir". The lid came off and water splashed EVERYWHERE! At least my counter and floor got cleaned up! I don't think it's too bulky in the fridge compared to other filters I've used. If you are a family of more than 1 person drinking from this you might want to get 2. Now explain my litmus test. I would like to note that I tested when the filter was almost used up as stated above. Why? I just received these test strips. These strips are very accurate and have a small test area. How did I test? I emptied the jug. Then pour some tap water into a disposable plastic cup and set aside. I then poured tap water into the tank and let it filter for about 5 minutes. Once the water was filtered, I poured the filtered water into a suitable disposable plastic cup. I then took 2 strips, one in each hand, and dipped them in the cups. I shook off excess water from each, placed it on a paper towel and let it sit for 15 seconds before reading. To be sure, I repeated the dip test 2 more times before taking the syringe. As a reminder, I performed this litmus test at the END of a filter's life cycle. I confess I'm quite impressed.
