Got this for a 1 year old but her 9 year old sister & cousins actually found it addictive! I was pretty surprised at that.I washed it prior to taking it over there, so if the baby gnawed on anything, we could rest easy. Anyway, I got water inside the balls which took a couple days to dry. They are NOT water tight! So if you wash yours, just wipe the balls, don't actually put them in water.There was no "plastic smell" (and I am sensitive so I would notice) which is comforting.Overall a real winner!
