My rescue cat Puma came with instructions from his foster parents about what he likes to eat. It was recommended that two wet feeds be placed on top of the dry feed every other day to ensure hydration. When I fed Puma as instructed, he didn't eat his own food. So I tried options. I separated two brands of wet food and tried feeding him and found that he would not eat wet food together or separately so I kept feeding him dry and bought a can of different brands of wet food to see if he would eat would. There is. I came to the conclusion that cougars don't like wet food, although they still buy wet food because cats need extra fluids. Then I bought Fancy Feast and the sea parted. The puma hears the click of a glass opening and comes running. Not only will he swallow it, he will lick the plate several times. He is so pleased with me that after the meal he comes up to me and gently rubs his nose on me (this is our specialty) and kisses me to show his appreciation. I've already looked at several brands and the search is over.
