I was very reluctant to order this because our half brand new fridge told us we needed to change the filter. When we bought the fridge and found out it had a water filter I thought it was fine, but had no idea that MayTag themselves wouldn't supply filters for their products. Instead, we're forced to hunt and hunt for someone who sells replacement filters. We have learned that this is a conquered market and manufacturers are deceiving customers. After spending a few thousand on a new fridge with a water filter, you now have to spend over $45 on filters every few months. Anyway, the next morning after installing this expensive piece of junk, I opened the fridge and water was pouring everywhere. This creates such a back pressure that the connector and gaskets cannot withstand it, and the front screen that closes the filter fills with water in a few minutes and then continues to leak and splash continuously. Lesson learned. If you can find them, there are $18 versions of this filter that are very common at Revain and work great.
