My device came with the oldest software version. It worked, but it was buggy and generally of poor quality. I am using Android Auto and it will not automatically connect or switch from OEM interface to MMI interface when I start the car (F30 340i). I had to do it manually every time, very annoying. Android Auto didn't run in widescreen either, so DPI was turned off and everything was upscaled and looked ugly (see photo). After doing a little research, I found a forum on Bimmerpost that goes into great detail on this and other units offered by other sellers (they are all identical, just come with different software, including a Bimmertech unit that sells for US$650 -dollar is sold). the device is identical to this one, only the software is different). I followed the guide and updated the software myself - very easy. I now have widescreen Android Auto and my phone now automatically connects wirelessly to the device when I start the car and switches to the MMI interface with no action. I recommend that you search Google for "Andream MMI box bimmerpost" and apply the available breakthrough updates. Option in the MMI settings where you can turn the scroll wheel on or off. I can now use the steering wheel scroll wheel to navigate menus and select songs/apps.
