The main benefit of this, at least for me, was the ability to remove it simply by pulling the tab. The quality of the materials is actually quite high, but I found it a bit difficult to slide down and open. It seems to me that it would be just as easy to use regular lids and nails to lift the lid without the aid of a pull-tab, compared to using the same amount of force to access the pull-tab and then pry it out of its socket. If I do that, I'm a little worried that I might break the lid. In this case, I think the simpler the better. That aside this is a decent quality product that works very well as advertised but be aware it might take a little more work to get what it seems to be!
