Difficult to roll fully closed

To get around that hard closed roll I almost closed it and then started. Once it's where I want it, I snap it all the way in and it works great. When I open the curtains I pull the rope over it or it pops out and then you have to rewind it.

  • Quick change
Cons
  • Not all fit

Excellent value for money and quality. Security

Super for the price. I had no problems with the 4 I bought. Just one click to attach and it was easy to reassemble without remodeling. Once in place they don't move so they don't work well for a blind that is constantly being adjusted but they are just what we need. I plan to buy more.

  • Handsfree
Cons

Good for protecting curious little kids

I like this product as it's much safer than leaving the cord unwound and risking a curious kid strangling himself. The only thing I don't like is that when you change the position of the blinds, the product usually pops out and you have to rewind it. If you like adjusting your blinds daily, it's a bit of a hassle but still worth the safety of your kid.

  • Quality construction

  • Not as thick as other picks

Slightly tricky electrical safety

Our blind cords hang almost to the ground when open. I took three sets for the living room and kitchen. They do the job, which is why I gave them three stars instead of two, but they are very tricky to install. You have to make sure they are in the dead center of the string or they will take a long time to wind up. Also, they are very difficult to close. Sometimes when you touch them, they just fall apart in your hand. Once they're up and secured, they're fine, but getting them that way can be…

Not for me due to electrical safety

I consider myself skilled and know I assembled this thing correctly, but. as others have said; They fall apart if you pull too hard. I like to open the blinds all the way and I have to pull the crank cords quite high to get them out of reach. This means I have to take them off every time I want to lower the blinds. A bit of a hassle although they are very easy to install. Maybe most people have their windows set higher than mine. In this case, they could be perfect. I think I should have done a

I haven't completely given up on them yet.

This is just one of many cheap child safety products that do the job they're intended for, but may be more trouble than they're worth. It's not rocket science, but it's a real chore to align the cables in the right direction with adequate cable length, and also to wrap and snap everything. You think you've finally made it and then you pull the cord to adjust the blinds and the caps fly apart and now you have to untangle the tangle of threads. Maybe I'm just missing the magical touch, but I'm…

Very simple, not for continuous winding

These cable winders are more like cable holders and hold the cable very well. I can't unwind the cable even though the packaging says to twist it counterclockwise. I mean, if you're very, very strong, I'm sure you can turn everything counterclockwise. But the fact is that the twister blocks the winding of the line and so on. Otherwise, keeping the cord out of reach works very well. I actually left enough cord on top to move the blinds to the open/closed position. On the other hand (for raising…

Simple electrical security solution

I needed to stow a dozen Roman shades out of reach of my two and four year olds. The Mommy's Helper Cord Reel was inexpensive and easy to install. Other reviewers state that the product falls apart when you pull the cord to open the blinds, but I haven't had any of these issues. Our cables were very long and it was quicker for me to manually wind them onto the spindle in the lower half of the case than to rotate the closed case to wind the cable. It also required quite a bit of force to close…
