I liked the fact that it has 2 large pockets instead of a large zipper. In the first I can store my wallet, agenda and a small cosmetic bag. Then in the second book I'm reading right now, a small notebook, a diary and my sunglasses, everything fits perfectly. Take whatever you want to put in the outside pockets, just make sure something flat is tucked away at the very back or it will get in the way of your back. I had to get rid of the old messenger, for some reason it was too heavy, but converted everything I had into this one and got a bigger wallet, weight is no longer an issue. Carrying it on one shoulder is quite normal. LOVE this product!
