instructed to buy this for my DISH Network DVR receiver - not working

More issues with DISH as a product, I think I've been told this is the only way to get an old DISH DVR up upgrade a wireless network with their new voice remote control. apparently only V2 works on older DISH receivers. It didn't work for us and we updated the receiver. Tried it on PC to see if it was a device or DISH and it worked for PC. DO NOT BUY FOR DISH, DISH CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE WRONG v3 DOES NOT WORK.
