Review on πŸ’‘ Furman SS-6B-PRO Surge Strip with Advanced Voltage Protection by Seth Singh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent option for quieting audio equipment and reducing hiss/noise

I have always used quality surge protectors for my critical electrical equipment. But I got hiss in my tube amps. It wasn't that bad sitting on the side, but up close, and especially when I plugged a mic into my amp, it was awful. It can be anything, my fridge, turntable, stereo, fan. Some connectors are better than others, but I can only isolate some of them. I first looked at a more expensive voltage regulator, but concluded that maybe it's not worth betting on perfection. Given that the voltage regulator is above 600, the choice is not difficult. I don't run a recording studio. All of my audio equipment, stereo receiver, cassette deck, turntable and two amplifiers are connected to it. but now it's much harder to hear it even if it's on the mic. I wasn't looking for perfect silence, just cleaner. The best and most useful device I have ever bought for my audio equipment. Even my turntable (a repeat offender in the hum department) is noticeably quieter.
