Much easier than I thought. The entire toilet did not have to be removed, only the drain seal was renewed. Simply loosen the two bolts/screws on the back connecting the bowl to the base, rotate the bowl slightly and lift up and out of the way. Still connected to the waterline from the base but there is more than enough room to remove the old gasket, wipe the gasket face down and insert the new gasket. Align the bowl with the base and replace the screws. This took about 15 minutes. Works well (i.e. holds water). Tip: I used a black marker to put a dot between the shell and the base on either side so I can line them up perfectly when I put them together. Having a small set of outlets also helps.
