We got this as a gift from a family of children and were all excited to try it, but if you're a person who really likes brown or burnt marshmallows (like me) then this is it not for you, we used to sit over the fire with marshmallows, and for even a tiny speck to turn a little brown you have to almost touch the metal plate and no matter how long you hold it over the fire, it won't turn brown when it does almost doesn't touch the plate but it starts to melt from your stick, so nice you warm up the marshmallows but not for frying, quite disappointed but I wasn't expecting too much without having a real flame
