It works out. but there is something to consider

This little device is pretty cool - I won't lie. I have a pretty good slider, but it's not motorized, so my movements are jerky and not always smooth. But with this little motorized thing, my camera movements are perfectly smooth. nearly. This device has 3 speeds: slowest, slowest and slowest. (OK, fast, medium and slow - I meant to be funny). I definitely like the slowest speed. The camera movement is so fluid that the video I create is mesmerizing. But every speck of dust on the surface of your desk, no matter how small, makes its way into the device and into your camera. If you're shooting at 60 fps or higher, you'll look like you're shooting during an earthquake if you slow down the footage. I just want to say To make up for this, make sure you're using this device on a really clean and smooth surface. I also run this little device at max speed and then slow it down in post. It seems to help a little. It helps the most to use an Image Stabilized (IS) lens. Wear an Image Stabilizer lens to protect your footage from earthquakes. I love the little remote that comes with it. When I unwind the tape, I press the buttons and the small table coil plays. Good. I can change speeds, stop and reverse movement remotely - and never have to touch the device itself. It looks like the thing is made of cast iron. That is hard. It's like a little tank. If I balance it right I can even put a Canon 1DX Mark II on this thing - but only with my 50mm f/1.8 (fantastic plastic). When I put my 24-70mm on it gets too heavy and the thing just falls over. I'm sure it wasn't made for such a large setup, but it was still fun to experiment with. My biggest criticism of this little car is that they didn't print markings on where the wheel arms open. I've seen many other (eerily similar) units on Revain that have little bars printed on the pivot points so you can make sure each wheel arm is at the same angle on either side of the unit. Not so with this one. With this thing, you fly by scent - guess what angle you need to place the wheel arms at - and hope that if you flip your movement in the opposite direction, it'll follow the same trajectory back to where you started - which it never does is – because I can never make both sides exactly the same. I look at him and walk closer. but never exactly. So you have a small camera and lenses with image stabilization? This little machine has helped me create some pretty cool video clips - maybe it can help you too. ***UPDATE*** I originally wrote this review. in May 2020 - and my copy of the device had no bars as I noted above. I just noticed (September 2020) that ANNSM has released an updated version of this gadget - now with grids on the handles. They also raised the price a bit. Well done for the update! I wish I had an updated version - I could actually use these markers - but hey. First world problems. *** END OF UPDATE ***
