Review on KNIPEX 74 22 200 Comfort Grip Angled Diagonal Cutter - High Leverage 8-Inch Tool by Will Rahman

Is Klein worth it against Knipex?

High comfort. Better than anything I've ever had with a comfortable grip. I like how it feels in the hand and during operation. BUT the cutting performance did not convince me. My small tools have a red handle for a comfortable grip. Much better for slicing, like butter. I see a lot of comments about these Knipex dams lasting longer than their little ones. That may be true, since I have hardly introduced this Knipex. I've tested both in comparison cutting at home with 12 AWG and 12 AWG. Isolated, naked and wrapped in Romex at the same time. Cuts in the middle and at the ends of the wire in all three aspects. Small is smoother and cuts like butter. I can cut slowly with a small knife, it's smooth and without extra tension. And I mean very slowly. With the Knipex, I needed more power in the cut when moving slowly. Or if I cut 3 jacketed wires at once. It's the same with tips. But the Knipex is not bad. That's very impressive. But compared to my red comfy Kleins pen, Kleins win, and I wish I had spent the extra $$$ on these Knipex. I have to say after cutting for a while on the test. Knipex has become smoother. And I took them to work etc on the cuts they seemed smoother. But Klein still wins and it shows. If you don't need a new pair, be the owner of Klein Tools Dams. Do not worry. Otherwise take this one.

Pros
  • Diagonal cutters
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes
