Exceptional value for money

Edit: Update, I loved my first monitor so much I just bought another one. I can't believe how bad my old Acer XG270HU monitor compares to this one. These are the best monitors I've used in terms of eye strain and ease of use while still delivering pleasing colors. The high resolution, high refresh rate, and semi-gloss finish along with TN-like symptoms that are minimal (which I personally don't notice after setup) combined with a great price makes it unbeatable. The semi-gloss is very pleasing to the eye. I am happier with this monitor than monitors twice the price. This is perfect for me personally and my own use cases. I hope my review helps someone have a great experience with it too. That being said, I'm seriously considering buying two more for my work office. I like her so much! About me: I use this product for both gaming and work. I'm a software developer. In short, with some adjustments (my adjustments are listed below) this monitor looks amazing and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality monitor to play or work with. When I hooked up this monitor, I was initially disappointed. Colors looked just as washed out, if not more so than my current TN monitor (Acer XG270HU). I read many reviews praising this monitor, but I was disappointed with the default settings. However, after spending some time adjusting the monitor, I got the colors to "pop" and I'm perfectly happy with it. Now I understand what people mean when comparing the colors of this model to IPS. They are very good and honestly comparable to the IPS monitors I've used. The biggest problem with this display seems to be the gamma, which is set too high by default, and the color saturation settings need to be turned up. I would really appreciate the ability to set the gamma yourself in the monitor's OSD menu, but unfortunately this is not possible. The text on this monitor is crystal clear. The anti-reflective coating used is better than others in this regard. Seriously, text looks really good on this thing. For reference, I'm running Windows DPI scaling at 125% because I don't like squinting. This is my favorite aspect of this monitor. I can look at that thing all day and not get angry. Color uniformity is excellent. Having tried many IPS and VA panels, this has been my biggest gripe, especially the curved VA panels and all IPS panels I've tried. I just can't take it. As I moved my head from side to side of the monitor, the Google search pages turned from light pink to light green from right to left. Or I saw color temperature hotspots that just looked awful. The gamma shift present in TN monitors doesn't bother me as it is constant. It's worth noting that the gamma shift on this monitor is great for TN. It's noticeable but not significant. I can and will live with that. I love the physical design of this thing. Dell kicked it out of the park by NOT adding useless RGB lighting or awkward "gamer" glare and sticking to a clean and crisp design. It just looks cool and should fit into any work environment, even professional ones. The ergonomic settings are classic Dell and work well. It just feels like a quality product. The USB hub is great as I control it from a laptop and only have to worry about a USB cable to connect it to my computer. My peripherals stay connected to the monitor. Other than that, gaming is great on this thing. 155Hz is rated above 144Hz and the free sync works great with my GTX 1070. No problem here, love it. In conclusion, I'm very happy to have found a TN monitor without these issues, after being frustrated with the high refresh rate VA and IPS panels on the market, mainly because of the uniformity issues that have been plaguing me all along. Viewing angles aren't as good as IPS, but I've got enough. I don't do gymnastics at my desk. I see no need to "upgrade" to a different panel type as the colors are just as good on this panel. 155Hz + great colors + clean and professional design + negligible (and expected) gamma shift is the recipe for victory. I'll have another one soon. The settings I use for this monitor (settings not mentioned do not change by default): - changed via the monitor's OSD menu - Edit: update based on later settings I found better Brightness: my settings range from 40 to 60 percent, depending on the ambient light. This thing gets SERIOUSLY bright. Contrast: 75 Overclocked to 155 Hz Free sync enabled (works great with Nvidia cards) Preset: Custom Color Gain: R 97, G 92, B 96 Saturation: R 63, G 63, B 63, C 63 , M 63, Y 63 β€” changed via Nvidia Control Panel - Gamma: 0.82
