Star-rite makes great pumps. Star-rite and Myers pumps (two of the finest pumps available) are now owned by Pentair. I replaced the Myers pump with this Star-rite as the Myers 3/4hp was temporarily out of stock. Installation was easy and the pump has been working very well so far. I hope the quality of this new Star-rite block lives up to the reputation of the older Star-rite blocks. FYI: Other brand pumps sold at local stores/Lowes/Menards/etc are junk. Money on it - you're lucky if you get a year from another pump brand. Spend a little more and get some quality like Star-Rite/Myers/Grundfos etc. You won't regret it. It's no fun fighting jet pumps in a dirty pit.
