These drawers are perfect for small shelves in a garage back room. The shelves are 24 inches long and 12 inches wide, allowing us to fit 3 boxes across to free up space. They are about the size of a shoe box. So when you find what you need, just grab a shoebox and see if it's the right size. We use them to store small items that we've always kept in big boxes (gardening gloves, clips, picture hanging accessories, whatever) - which has always made it very difficult to find anything. Now everything is marked (with chalk stickers) and visible through a transparent container. They like attached lids that you never lose, and also leave some extra room over the regular rim. They look very durable and well made. I plan to purchase more Sterilite containers for larger items.
