It's purpose for me right now is just to serve as a bluff

I got this cam last year in June. Apparently this was right around the time a lot of reviews were coming out about the firmware messing their cams up, so I never updated it. It worked for a while up until I lost two car batteries over it. That's mostly my fault for assuming turning parking mode off would mean it wouldn't draw power, but it did. I wasn't a fan of process of getting footage from the camera to the phone. It felt really laggy and was kind of annoying to scroll through many 1 minute vids to find the one I was looking for. No idea if that's just how other Dash Cam apps are, but.yeah didn't like it.About two or three months back from the time of writing over this review, my front camera stopped working properly and would capture what I can only describe as "Colorful static". In an attempt to see if it was the hardware or software messing up, I opted to update the firmware which resulted in it getting stuck in a loop of rebooting. after about the 5th or 6th try my cigarette lighter stopped working. I changed the fuse, but it's still not working. I'm going to assume it's the lighter itself got messed up.TLDR; Front Cam stopped capturing properly after 6 or so months, Dash Cam app is laggy and not great to navigate, firmware update somehow messed it up, it's now a $500 bluff that hangs out in my windshield.

Pros
  • The dashcam can automatically upload and backup your footage to the cloud for added peace of mind.
Cons
  • The GPS location may not be accurate in certain areas
