I am a radio amateur. I bought this cable so that I could connect both a radio control interface (CAT/CI-V) and a speaker to the "Band B" output of an Icom ID-5100A radio. I bought USB to CAT "CI-V". Control cables from Brand, bluemax49ers here at Revain. It was plugged into the red connector labeled "Ring". At the same time, I connected the speaker to the black connector labeled "Tip". On the Ring (CI-V) side I can control the radio with a few programs. On the tip (speaker) side, I can hear the expected audio from the B-band side of the radio. There may be an unexpected use of this cable; However, this works great for my application. A suggestion for Hosa: add more pictures. Show the labels "TIP" and "RING". These labels were especially helpful as I didn't have to take apart my meter to figure out which port was which. Also, thanks for following the "R" alliteration rule: for audio - "red right". In this case "red on the ring" :-)
