I live out in the country, so at night, it gets pitch black. I have a black lab who doesn't run off . . . but I still wanted to keep an eye on him in the evenings. I love the material, the light and LED quality, and the fact that you can simply use an included USB to recharge the collar!I use this only in the evenings, so I'd estimate that I get about a month out of it before it needs recharged again. I believe it only takes about an hour or so for a full charge. Overall, the battery life has been amazing. I also love that it holds up well. We do quite a bit outside, and it hadn't torn, stained, or showed any signs of failing.Great collar that I have purchased many times!
