We bought this to make our cereal more accessible than digging through the cupboard or pantry. It's also useful when trying to control portions, as you can get a consistent portion with every turn of the knob. It keeps the flakes fairly fresh for a while, despite not being fully sealed. So if you leave the flakes in there for a couple of months (like we did with the flavor, which we both didn't care for but appreciated), the flakes will stale over time. Taking it apart and putting it back together to clean it can be a chore, and on more than one occasion I worried it would break when trying to pull out the stubborn handle when we first got it, though it's easier was. with time. Overall it was a nice addition to our kitchen and looks great on the countertop.
