The ribbon cable from the replacement stick I received doesn't fit the ribbon connector on my joycon. The ribbon cable was barely too wide and tall to fit in the thumb joycon ribbon connector, which is very frustrating. However, the original thumb cable was easily removed and reinstalled - it fitted perfectly; nice and cozy as you would expect. I'm pretty sure I accidentally damaged the controller's ribbon connector when trying to insert a spare ribbon. Aside from the issue with the ribbon cable, the joystick's articulation was somewhat limited. I could feel more or less resistance in some directions, which would lead me to believe that this could cause slipping problems. If the joystick fits right and could be installed, I'd know for sure. These problems can be the result of poor quality control; Or maybe I'm unlucky. I sent back the replacement joystick and in the end decided not to risk it with spare parts. As an immediate fix I bought a replacement joystick and will probably do so in the future.
