I watched a video about disassembling the controller and replacing the analog stick. From start to finish it took no more than 30 minutes. I would recommend using tweezers on some of the internal cables as they can be difficult to reattach, and remember the order of the screws as Nintendo uses different gauges and lengths for any screws you remove. In total you have to loosen 11 screws and disconnect 2-3 cables to get to the analog joystick.

Nintendo support has informed me that they only guarantee their Joy Con controllers for 90 days for $70 and that I can get $10 can pay for postage to mail it can pay $30 to fix it. Instead, I bought this replacement analog stick with the tools I need for only $12.99 and used the iFixit guide to fix my own controller in about 20 minutes. I bought two of these to replace the left analog stick on two joycons that were drifting. As long as you're careful, the replacement process is pretty simple. As expected, the included screwdrivers are of poor quality and easy to remove. If it breaks off prematurely I would recommend gently sanding the tip with a file or fine sandpaper. Purchased to replace the easy upshift on my left joycon. Removed as instructed and was careful with every step. The resulting replacement was a brown ribbon and the original color was blue. When I tried to insert the tape into the clip it didn't slide properly but I got enough (I thought) into the clip and went to collect. The ribbon cable from the replacement stick I received doesn't fit the ribbon connector on my joycon. The ribbon cable was barely too wide and tall to fit in the thumb joycon ribbon connector, which is very frustrating. Sorry rubbish. I've checked twice, thrice, that many times to make sure I've set it right, but the drift on this "new" stick is way, way worse than my other one which is a few years old.
