for many years probably every 6 months. Suddenly nobody wears them in "neutral" white 3500K anymore, which is what I need. I took one of these LED bulbs to see how it would work and I hooked it up today. The LED lamp is slightly longer, larger and heavier than the Phillips CFL lamp, but still easily fits into the luminaire. More importantly, there are no offset tabs on the lamp base like Phillips and other PL-C lamps, so it plugs directly into my fixture with no installation hassles. In terms of brightness, it looks exactly like a Phillips CFL bulb. Because it's an LED bulb, it turns on instantly at full brightness without a 'warm-up' process like a CFL bulb - which is what you really notice when a CFL bulb dies and soon needs to be replaced. However, the color temperature of a 3500K LED bulb looks the same as a Phillips 3500K CFL bulb. Overall this is a great replacement for the 4 pin Phillips 3500 PL-C CFL bulbs but only time will tell how long this LED bulb will last. A major downside to this LED bulb is that it costs twice as much as a Phillips CFL bulb at Home Depot ($6 vs. $13). If this LED bulb lasts more than a year, then it's worth it. But if it no longer works a year ago, then I will add the results to this review and change my assessment accordingly.
