Review on Crown Mark Hall Tree Cherry by Alexis Thompson

Item received in good condition. It is easy to assemble and the part looks high quality and durable. The different height brackets made the hanger very handy, especially for our daughter's coat which was out of reach. We only had a couple of jackets on the tree and we noticed how easily it can tip over. We thought it was weird but due to the looks and price we just had to live with it and be more careful with the weight distribution of the jackets. This morning my daughter grabbed her jacket and the whole rack of jackets fell over. and fell on her head. When I looked at the post, two of the three pins split the base and came loose. This is probably why the device kept tipping over - the pins initially broke easily in the slots where they entered the base, making the entire stand unstable. My guess is that after a while the cracks got so big that the slot got big enough for the pins to just come out. Unacceptable quality and design. I attribute this to a manufacturing defect at the base of my rack as nobody else seems to have had this problem. I guess others put bigger and heavier jackets on the pegs than we did as all of our pegs weren't even occupied and that's what happened. Luckily Revain's outstanding customer service meant we called and then agreed to send me a replacement free of charge using the fastest shipping method. but then we found out it was out of stock and they just sent me a refund instead. I will not buy a replacement and try another rack. It's a shame because the combination of price and looks was great, but I can't imagine that my base part was the only one that didn't work.
