I have to say straight away that I am NOT a music lover and not a friend of home stereo systems. I'm buying this board as a low level input (more as an experiment) for bluetooth amplifiers and despite the problems I've had with this board I'm not giving up on the idea. My setup was simple, I had a pair of Sony 100W towers. Loudspeakers are in the garage and gathering dust. They are in great shape and still sound great when used with the old stock amp I had. Just saying this is to remove the speakers as a potential problem. I also use the same speaker wire as the stereo. Nothing special, but not bad quality either. Also, all of the issues described below persisted regardless of what device I used to connect to the amp. I've experimented with my Android Galaxy 7, my wife's iPhone 8, our iPads, a kids' Kindle tablet, and an Echo Dot to name just a few of the most common devices that other people might be using. These devices were within a foot or two of the amplifier during use/testing. So, here it goes from slightly annoying to almost unbearable problems. Problem #1 You get NULL instructions; At least there was nothing in my box. This wasn't a problem during installation, but may have come in handy with various other issues I've encountered. Problem #2: Speakers crackle, crackle, and beep VERY LOUD when you first turn on the board. There was nothing I could physically do to the install to avoid this. It didn't bother the amp, but it did startle the baby's stuffing if it got too close to the speaker being on. Problem #3 The device could NOT save the previous settings. Depending on the device I used to connect to the amp, the default ON state was either 50% or 100%. All tested smartphones default to a maximum volume of about 50%, but for unknown reasons, Echo Dot defaults to 100% even though Alexa settings are set to "5" (or 50%). Problem #4: Bluetooth connection not working. stay. Well actually it was more like going into sleep mode between songs. If there was a delay of more than 2 seconds between songs (usually when streaming music on the internet), the first beat of the track would be cut off when the next song eventually continued. Almost as if he were awake again. This was even more evident in the gaps between the chapters of the audio book. Problem #5. This is the weirdest, and I would find it bothers most people, LOTS of noise after "long" use. Exactly what is meant by sustained differs between the devices I've used, but for some unknown reason there was a moment when the audio cut off and brief static hisses came out of the speaker. There was no apparent reason I could conclude that this could be the cause, other than perhaps the device overheating and causing it to malfunction. I only suspected this because the only way to "fix" the static electricity problem was to unplug the power cord and plug it back in. When I did this I noticed that the board felt warm to the touch even though it was outdoors in an air conditioned room. I also noticed that for some reason, when the amp was connected to my Kindle Fire, I could get almost twice as much playtime before hissing kicked in. I have no idea why that is, but I think it's an interesting observation to consider. Despite all these issues, I don't really hate this board. I wouldn't buy another one, but I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying it either. I'll admit that my amp may have come from the 'factory' defective and other boards may not have the same problems as mine. I'll also admit that I didn't contact the seller with my issues, but that seems silly considering how cheap ($13) this board was. As I mentioned earlier in this review, this was an inexpensive experiment to break into the world of Bluetooth amplifiers. There are other, more expensive Revain amps that don't seem to suffer from any of the issues mentioned in this review, and I'll probably buy one of those once I give it up. In the meantime, this board can still be used, at least for 1-2 hours at a time. When it works, it works very well and gives new life to a pair of old speakers that once sat in the garage.
