Review on 🍦 Zoku Classic Pop Molds: 6 Easy-Release Popsicle Molds with Sticks and Drip-Guards, BPA-Free! by Kelly Thompson

Good product but with some limitations.

I ordered these popsicle molds in the mod pops version. It comes with hard plastic cases, not silicone cases. Obviously this is a quality product but there are downsides too. Below I have listed my experiences and opinions. POSITIVES: 1.) Product colors are beautiful! The orange holder (in our case), white sticks and transparent cases are vibrant and attractive. 2.) I ordered Mod Pops because I love the compact tray design. We ended up getting a second one, and they both fit comfortably in our fridge. 3.) The great thing is that each popsicle comes in its own case, so you don't have to put the whole tray under warm water. 4.) The design of the tray, cases, popsicle sticks and drip guard is very beautiful. 5.) Cases make popsicles perfectly sized (for adults) and easy to clean. 6.) The top of each sleeve snaps securely into place and does not leak. 7.) I know other people have mentioned that the drip guard is too low, but we had no issues with that. The trick is to only fill the sleeves up to the (difficult to see) sleeve fill line, not quite. This leaves room in the drip tray for melting popsicles. 8.) Another problem that people have mentioned is that the popsicle fell off the stick. We didn't think of that at all. My guess is that the liquid wasn't frozen long enough (we leave the tray in the freezer overnight). NEGATIVES: 1.) When we first received the product, three sticks broke off almost immediately and shortly after, three broke out of the case. Plastics appear to be quite brittle when frozen. We got replacement racquets and sleeves and now that we treat them much more gently in cold weather we haven't had any more incidents. The main thing is not to accidentally drop them (even from a short distance) and not to hit them on objects. 2.) When the item arrives, the popsicle sticks and drip guard are two separate pieces that need to be assembled. Once connected, they cannot be taken apart (without risk of breaking). Although the connection is tight, there is a tiny gap where the two pieces meet. Ice juice that gets there cannot be washed out. You should make them from one molded piece instead of two. 3.) The price of the product is quite high considering how easily sticks and shells break. If they used a more appropriate plastic I'd say it's worth it. So far, it's only worth it for cautious adults. The Dollar Store popsicle bowls aren't as well designed as this product, but they last a lot longer. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase even after initial disappointments, but I hope that the plastic used will be upgraded. Other than that, this product would be perfect. However, if one of the current bushings and rods breaks, we'll have to switch to another product in the future (they have a one-year warranty). I hope that doesn't happen because we had a lot of fun making different flavored popsicles.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Bad set
