Take Care of the AcuRite

Replace. Although the station worked as it should, and worked flawlessly for two years, it had to be replaced. I bought a hub to connect my station. I liked the idea of monitoring the situation at home from the office and everything worked fine on both the Weather Underground and AcuRite websites. Then I get an email from AcuRite. The hub is being replaced with a newer model that can do more (awesome, I love advances in technology!) and if I want to keep seeing my stats online I'll have to buy a new model, the old one isn't supported either function. I just don't like the idea of upgrading devices that aren't working yet. As Grandpa used to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" So I decided to call AcuRite to ask a few questions about this issue. I get a record that I am number 32 in line, leave my number and they will call you back. It's been a week and a half now and I'm still waiting for a call back. Unfortunately, after a week I ordered a replacement station from another company. The best product in the world is no better than the technical support behind it, and AcuRite seems to struggle in this area.

Pros
  • Weather Clock: Large color LCD display with current time, date and adjustable dimmer, making it easy to read and view data, time, and indoor and outdoor conditions from multiple angles
Cons
  • Requires socket
