I've just started using the alkaline version of the pitcher. I love having a great and affordable pitcher for making alkaline water rather than buying bottled alkaline water that I have no idea how long it's been sitting on the shelf. Plus the amount of used bottles, although I recycle. I use filtered water to pour into my pitcher. I haven't tried it with tap water yet. I think it would make my filtered water even better and have the benefits of alkalinity. However, the lid bothers me a bit. I can't get it to sit fully on the pitcher. One side is a bit loose - the handle is on the side as I don't want the question of where you're pouring. I also noticed that the water runs on the side of the filter and not through it. I tapped the pitcher and that fixed everything. I would take the filter out and put it back in if that's not the case. In general, I like the mug. There is one for mom. Update 9/11/18: I visited my mother and filled her jug. She has the same problem with the lid. If you accidentally pull on the bottom of the jug, the rubber part will come loose and you will have to put it back. I took off a star because I sent an inquiry about something this Saturday and didn't get a response from them.
