I used it indoors/outdoors on my mum's flat carpet. Her vacuum left most of the fur behind. We couldn't believe how much dog hair we picked up off those floors. Make short, sharp strokes with the bristles, then turn the broom over and scrape the area again with the blade. Get up and collect more. I used a hand brush to gather the fur lines into buns and lift the edges. Yes, you have to collect fur piles by hand. But this pair works! Also, I can use the portable device directly on my cats. The bristles are soft enough to be comfortable on and the rubber is sticky enough to gently tug at their fur. They love it. Works on smooth linen such as sheets and clothing. I would highly recommend this set if your vacuum isn't up to the task.
