I've always argued that the MP format can never deliver the music I want to hear. I confess that snobbery prevented me from even listening to whether that was really the case. My son got the same iPod when he finished college and I started listening to it a bit. I liked the flexibility he gave him in terms of CDs (I have a large library). The quality of the music in the headphones was indistinguishable from the quality of my stereo when playing a CD directly. Long story short I bought one and enjoy sorting and creating playlists and am very happy with it. The Apple software you download needs improvement. . It's somewhat limited in database capabilities and could use some flexibility. I can easily use my iPod in the car via the Aux socket on my car radio. The next step is to connect it to your home stereo. The downside is that the only annoyance so far is that if you don't have a computer handy for a USB port, you have to buy separate battery charging accessories. Good product - good price.
