Great sound, terrible battery - died in an hour

I bought this to replace my old iPod which died after a few months of battery life. The sound quality of this refurbished iPod is divine, maybe better than my old one. But the battery life is terrible. After about an hour of use, the battery will be empty. That's why I give one star. Very sad about that. I will turn back.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

One of my favorite purchases

I got tired of listening to the radio while driving and wanted to make my own daily soundtrack so I ordered this one and have never looked back. Although I haven't used it for movies, it fits nicely with my overall music collection. Being able to choose between Irish Folk, Weird Al, Rap or Classic Rock at any time is insane. It lasted well for a couple of years before I broke the screen and stuffed it in a bag with too many other items. Nevertheless, it still worked until the battery finally…

Pretty decent Good for portable AV

I hate the iPod Touch so being able to buy older models is important to me! Arrived in excellent condition with minimal body wear. It works fine for the most part, but crashes more often than I'd like. As this is an older model and in use I guess that's to be expected? If it gets worse I might consider going back, but for now I can tolerate it after the hours I've spent adding/organizing my music! Overall this is a great kit so I definitely don't think I wasted my money or anything. I would…

Everything I wanted - and more

Nice thing. I was torn between the 8GB Nano and this 30GB video because they basically cost the same. I'm glad I have 30GB. I mainly use it at my desk at work, so the size of the device isn't of the utmost importance. As is the expected longevity of flash memory on a hard drive. In addition, this device is still quite compact. I've downloaded 950 songs and used about 6GB so far. I don't intend to watch movies or anything like that, but I like the video feature, mainly for showing clips to…

Made me a converter

I've always argued that the MP format can never deliver the music I want to hear. I confess that snobbery prevented me from even listening to whether that was really the case. My son got the same iPod when he finished college and I started listening to it a bit. I liked the flexibility he gave him in terms of CDs (I have a large library). The quality of the music in the headphones was indistinguishable from the quality of my stereo when playing a CD directly. Long story short I bought one and…

Apple iPod Classic 30GB

This is the 3rd generation iPod that I use. At first I was very pleased that the price had come down a bit since I paid $239 for it, and a few years ago I paid almost $400 just for a color iPod. It wasn't long before Apple discontinued it less than a month after purchase, offering an 80GB version for the same price! At the same time, my observations are as follows: 1) Beautiful, stylish design. Very functional. 2) Easily download or transfer videos from DVD. 3) The battery life is much longer…

Great Value for Portable AV Equipment

I bought this unit after the original owner gave me a used 60G version as a gift about a year ago. It quickly became a staple in one of my cars. Although I'm a longtime PC and Android addict, using this device convinced me that Apple had succeeded with the iPod when it came to in-car MP3/podcast players. Integration with most if not all OEM and aftermarket car audio systems is seamless. In addition, once connected, the interface is very convenient. The next obvious step was to add another…

He only plays music.

I never thought I would buy an iPod (or any other MP3 player), but I have very monotonous tasks to do in the next few months, so I decided that, if I don't buy it, I have to concentrate, with the same success you can listen to music. Obviously, a lot of attention has been paid to the layout of the iPod. What I found most original is that the controls always default to the volume setting. Someone at Apple found out that iTunes' feature to "normalize" or equalize the volume doesn't really work…

Best CD MP3 Player Bar No

This is my fourth MP3 player. I used to have a 40GB iPod 4th gen, a 20GB Creative Zen Touch and currently I have a 1GB Sandisk flash player and a new black iPod 5th gen 30GB video player. When I opened the box and took out the player, I was amazed at how thin it is. My 4th generation iPod was much thicker at 40GB. I think the 80GB Gen 5 model will be about the same thickness as my Gen 4 model. The screen is larger and very clear. At first all I needed was a music player, but after downloading a
