Paper tears when torn from flatbed

Bought this to mix with paints and watercolors to use. The paper is glossy and thin, so it doesn't hold wet ink very well. Not quite what I was hoping for, so we'll use it with markers and crayons instead. Also, paper doesn't tear well and almost always does, no matter how careful I am.

Large 11" x 17" sheets give kids plenty of room to learn how to mix paints and finger paint
